The Haunted House, 2024
The 2024 – 2025 school year is still young and many freshmen are only now getting a chance to to experience the yearly grover haunted house. Last year we covered the first haunted house production that the school had since before covid.
October 25, 2024 from 6-9:30 p.m. The school’s Halloween party ran with the main attraction, the haunted house, going from 6-7:00 p.m. The event was fully sold out with 200 expected guests and a packed house event. The amount of people at the event also increased the long lines for the haunted house which lasted up to 20 minutes for a run through of the haunted house being within the range of five to seven minutes. Then after going through the haunted house the guests would go to gym two where the main event was held.
The haunted house itself was a big project that had students go through the auditorium at the beginning of the attraction. Before the participants experienced the horrific event, they were entertained by a performance by the dance team. This year is the first time the dance team is featured in the haunted house. They made their appearance at the start of the haunted house and set a tone for the event to follow. Their brief performance concludes with the team running at guests and moving them along to the rest of the house.
At the conclusion of the performance, they moved up to the stage to begin the second part of the attraction. The third part is followed by going down the stairs. The stairs lead down to the basement which was split into three additional parts that go through the whole art department basement. At the end of the attraction, the guests received free candy as a reward for surviving the ghouls they encountered.
The haunted house was a complete success with overwhelmingly positive on the scene reviews. The students gave a wide assortment of reviews after going through the house and when asked to rate the overall quality of production on a scale of one to ten, the average resulted between six and ten.
The main event featured tons of music, a spooky theme in the form of cobwebs on tables, and lots of Halloween decorations. The party raged and also had overwhelming positive reviews. With the music being especially favored.
The overall experience was well reviewed all around. The haunted house has become a massive success two years running and now something students can learn to appreciate year round.
